Software by the Bootcamp method

Twan points at an article on software teams boot camp that takes a highly military process. Worth reading if you touch software. There are a number of insights in there.

Another article he points at is also worth reading. It's the Shuttle Team. Although this might sound inspiring, it's not as relevant to the real world of software as all that; we don't have a single unchanging machine, we don't have the understanding required to create a 2,500 page spec for a 6,366 line change, we don't care if it crashes, and don't have the money to pay for any of that. Still, some of the things in the article resonate, so it is good to read and isolate what it is that is applicable to your world and what's not.
